Last Sunday, we celebrated the birthday of the Church (Pentecost) and also Big Red's Anniversary with our family (3 years now!!!). Of course, we all wore
RED (except Melody who didn't have a red shirt, so she wore pink). The kids did a very simple Gifts of the Holy Spirit craft before Mass and we hung them in the doorway between our dining room and kitchen (thanks to a
sweet friend who shared her idea on Facebook). It is our hope that throughout the month of June, we can read these gifts often and stand under a particular gift and pray to be blessed with it.
That afternoon, we were asked over to swim at my sisters and we brought ingredients to make Pentecost Sundaes (ice cream, DOVE chocolates, cherry - for the fireball, and lots of
RED syrup). They were SO yummy!!
And, at night for dinner at our place, we made a Fruits of the Holy Spirit salad....
A Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.
And, you shall renew the face of the earth.
O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful; grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
