Multitudes on Mondays

"Everything is indeed for you, so that the grace
bestowed in abundance on more and more people may
cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God."
-2 Corinthians 4:15

When you come to recognize the continual presence of God around you day in and day out and the love He brings, a joy and peace just dwells richly inside of you.  And, as He plans perfectly, the joy and love is radiated through you to others.  All to bring Him glory and bring others closer to Him.  Let us continue to recognize Him and His love for us in even the smallest, simplest ways He chooses to reveal Himself to us....

Thanks be to God for these and all graces received....

VBS 2011

This past week was the annual Vacation Bible School in the town where I grew up.  All of our kids have attended since they were old enough to, and I have put in many years of service and volunteering as well, but have taken the last 2 years off since I have clingy little ones that wouldn't part happily from me.  God always does an amazing job pulling this fun, faith-filled week together perfectly.  They use the Group VBS programs and this year's theme was Pandamania.  It was a very exciting and uplifting week for them, full of prayer, Bible stories, snacks, crafts, music, friends and fun!!

Here's a picture of the crafts they did each day.  (one of the crafts was a gift for the local volunteer firemen, so I wasn't able to get a picture of it, since it was given away)

And, then of course, they do a Friday Finale where they sing all the songs from the week and review all their Bible points.  Here's a few pictures of them performing or posing with their crews....

My Multitudes

“Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church” (Colossians 1:24).

We reached our half-way point to our 1000 Gifts this week.  God is in all aspects of our life...  the good and the bad.  We are fully aware and thankful when all is going well.  But, what about when things take a turn for the worse??  Do we draw nearer to Him or do we question His presence?  One of the beauties of the Catholic Church is the emphasis they place on redemptive suffering.  Our sufferings here on earth unite us to the cross and if accepted with faith, they can have redemptive value!  He has left room for us to add to His afflictions.  Our pains.  Our crosses. Our complaints.  Our bothers.  Let none of them go un-wasted!  Bring them to the foot of the cross with trust and faith and leave them there.  For God....  "makes everything work out according to his plan."  (Ephesians 1:11).  This coming week, I will strive to quietly and prayerfully draw nearer to Our Lord when things are not going perfectly with my plans....

Here's a peek at the gifts and graces that God has blessed us with this past week.  Thanks be to God for his continual presence with us!!
